Shelly Crysler

Shelley has been involved with the choral, classical, and folk music communities on Vancouver Island since she was a small child. Growing up in the Comox Valley, Shelley studied Suzuki Violin as well as fiddle music from a young age, performing with the BC Fiddle Orchestra during the Commonwealth Games in Victoria, BC in 1994. Having always held a deep love of singing, Shelley studied voice throughout her teen years and continued her vocal studies at UBC School of Music, graduating with her Bachelor of Music Degree in 2008. She toured Austria in 2006 and England in 2009 with the UBC University Singers and Vancouver Bach Choir’s “Sarabande Singers”, both under the direction of Bruce Pullen. She also sang with the Vancouver Cantata Singers for two seasons before moving back to Vancouver Island. Shelley has been working as a private violin and fiddle instructor in the Comox Valley since 2010, and has been involved with the Cantiamo Chamber Ensemble, in a variety of capacities over the years, since 2000.
